So yesterday the faultline between Ottawa and Montreal "suffered" an earthquake. The effect was as widespread as Ohio, where Ohio State University students were evacuated from buildings.
I don't think Guelph wasn't hit that bad. In fact, I was out for sushi lunch with some lab mates and didn't notice a thing. I didn't learn about the earthquake until I got back to school and went to the Taps to watch the Germany game, that Luis told me about the earthquake! I heard stories afterward that some people noticed monitors shaking and glasses of water move across tables.
It was magnitude 5.5 on the Richter scale, so nothing devastating, but apparently windows rattled and buildings shook in Toronto.
